Project Spotlight- Courage Kenny Able Fitness

The Courage Kenny project consists of a complete remodel of the Fitness and Cardio Area. Elliott is responsible for the lighting, controls, fire, and data portion. This includes such items as daylight harvesting in the three of the large rooms, and automated controls throughout the entire space. Elliott will also be powering full length window shades from American Drapery Systems. Chris LaBonne is the Project Manager overseeing all electrical aspects of the project, while Nick Scheidnes and Mike Pearson have been the onsite Foreman running the project.
Courage Center was founded in 1928 as the Minnesota Society for Crippled Children and Adults. The organization is dedicated to meeting the changing needs of children and adults with disabilities, with an emphasis on advocacy and recreation as well as rehabilitation. Courage Kenny is part of the Allina Health Network.
Elliott Contracting Headquarters Expansion

Big things are happening at Elliott this month as we are expanding our office and warehouse space. We moved our headquarters back in 2015 from the Warehouse District to Fridley and have outgrown the original office and warehouse area. Construction is nearing the end and we are looking forward to utilizing the extra space for our growing Construction Management Division and Service Department. Stay tuned for the final product!
Elliott Contracting Continues To Put Safety First

Elliott Contracting continues to strive for perfection when it comes to safety. With over four years of Zero Lost Time Injuries, along with continued progress in growing the Safety Program, we continue to pave the way for safety. The Safety Program for Elliott consists of all employees being involved daily to prevent accidents from happening. Project Spotlight- Good Samaritan Mandan, ND
January 6th 2017
The Good Samaritan Mandan project is a 120 bed skilled nursing facility located in Mandan North Dakota. The facility consists of a centralized community building, and 3 neighborhood buildings with 40 patient rooms in each. The project is being led by General Foreman, Tom Berlin, along with manpower from MEI electric out of Fargo. This project was heavily built using the prefab department and shipped directly to the jobsite. Benson-Orth Associates is the General Contractor on the project, and is scheduled to be complete by early 2017.

Another great celebration at the field holiday party this year. We can’t give enough thanks to all of the electricians that make Elliott possible. We also completed our second year of the Foreman Incentive Program. Elliott had two foreman with a perfect year, John Carmean and Nick Scheidnes. These two continue to set the bar for leadership in the field and we are so thankful for all of their efforts. Nick Scheidnes ended up taking home the grand prize of $4,100 cash once again this year. Congrats to him and the rest of the winners. We also would like to give a special thanks to all of our vendors who contributed to giveaways for all of our electricians. Everyone at Elliott is looking forward to another successful year ahead!
Elliott Toys for Tots Drive

Elliott Contracting Service Department is Evolving

Elliott Contracting Service Department is evolving, recently Elliott Contracting has hired Daryl Sittig, he has taken on the role of Vice President of Service. Daryl brings over 30 years of well-rounded construction experience in the electrical and mechanical fields, including experience in the private sector as well as institutional and government fields.
Moving over to the service department is Joe Berres, Joe has been with Elliott Contracting working as a Project Manager in the Construction Division, he has been involved with our industrial and healthcare customers, as well as managing our involvement with the resent US Bank Stadium construction.
In addition, Janan Putz as recently been hired for the position of Service Coordinator. Janan has worked in the customer service and the marketing sectors for her career. She brings years of service experience with her to a position where helping the customer is your prime concern.

Abbott Northwestern Emergency Department Renovation Project

Construction is underway at Abbott Northwestern Hospital for the Emergency Department renovations. This project started August of 2016 and the projected completion date is March of 2018. Abbott Northwestern Hospital is a 627-bed teaching and specialty hospital based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It is the largest not-for-profit hospital in the Twin Cities and a part of the Allina Health network of hospitals and clinics.
The electrical portion of the Emergency Department project consists of providing complete building electrical, low voltage, lighting, fire alarm, and nurse call systems throughout the emergency department. The scope of work includes providing power and lighting to ambulance garage as well as an exterior backlit hospital sign.
Allina Health is the owner of the project with JE Dunn as the General Contractor. Josh Rezac is the General Foreman for the project and will manage all aspects of the electrical construction. Chris LaBonne is the Project Manager overseeing all electrical aspects of the job.
Project Spotlight- Corcoran Triangle

Corcoran Triangle is a 135 unit apartment building located on Hiawatha, just south of the light rail station. The project consists of one level of underground garage, four levels of units, two community rooms and a surface parking lot with LED parking lot lighting. Corcoran Triangle was designed and priced for workforce tenants. The unit rental pricing and the location by the light rail makes it ideal for workforce tenants that can easily get to their respective jobs by light rail.
Wellington Development is the owner of the project with Shaw Lundquist as the general contractor. John Carmean was the General Foreman for the project and managed all aspects of the electrical construction. We had workforce goals of 32% minority and 6% women, which we exceeded. Corcoran Triangle became available for rent on November 1st, 2016.

Elliott Group Volunteering- Feed My Starving Children

Elliott Contracting had the opportunity to volunteer at Feed My Starving Children this month. As a group we were able to package 99 boxes of food containing 21,384 meals, which will feed 58 children for a year! We couldn't be more proud of our team. Thank you to all of our volunteers and also the team at Feed My Starving Children.
Project Spotlight Piccadilly Square

Piccadilly Square is a 79 unit senior citizen building located in Mahtomedi MN. This was one of two wood frame constructions jobs Elliott did over the past year with Shaw-Lundquist. Showing Elliott’s ability’s to go after the residential market with a great group of guys. Piccadilly Square was a fast paced job with little time for construction. The use of Elliott's prefab shop helped this job finish strong.
Project Spotlight Downtown East Commons
September 14th 2016
Downtown East Commons is a city owned and operated park in downtown Minneapolis, just outside the new US Bank Stadium. The park consists of two city blocks with walking paths, sitting areas, a splash pad and play areas for kids. The East block has a 1200 amp service with integrated cam locks that gives the ability for large electrical connects such as a ferris wheel, food trucks or a large stage. The West block has a 1600 amp service with the idea that the park will add different attractions such as an ice rink and warming house in the near future. Downtown East will be a highlighted attraction for the 2018 Super Bowl held in Minneapolis MN and a staple of the downtown area.
